We've had a very warm December so far! The kids get to take advantage of it with outdoor play every day. During outdoor play, students learn how to work with others, negotiate, share, create games, and use their imagination.
We often forget that just because the kids are in school, that they need time to play. Play is essential to so many social and life skills. In addition, they get to show what they've learned in a variety of ways.
In Dramatic Play, students use new vocabulary they've learned while using their imagination to tell you about their scenario. In Straws and Connectors, students have explored shapes and numbers. In Writing and Art Center, students are developing fine motor skills with the use of writing utensils, glue, and scissors. In addition, play allows students to be creative and to problem solve every day with their peers.
